He never got to finish it and his notes in <i>The Salmon of Doubt</i> are very sparse, too little to go on for any successor. I can't fault Colfer for trying but the book is one that you don't need to read. I'd heard an interview with Colfer... or read one (or maybe both and that's why I'm confused... anyway) and was slightly intrigued but I haven't read any of his other books and the description he gave sounded like something I'd want to avoid. I've been disappointed in Hitchhiker books since Mostly Harmless (which left an incredibly bad taste in my mouth.) I really believed that there needed to be no further books after So Long and Thanks For All The Fish which felt like a good ending point.
