Inktober 2018, Day 2: Tranquil

For this one, I was still figuring out how much I could do with the available time.

Day 2:

What I wrote about this at the time:

2. Tranquil. Synthesizer artist Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith working on a recording at Suzanne Ciani’s house, overlooking woods and, behind that, the sea (not indicated here as I couldn’t figure out how to render that in brush pens within the time slot), based on a still from the documentary Sunergy ( ). Her expression of utter concentration in the movie fills me with envy. I can only hope to ever have that much focus. Smith’s work with Ciani does help me with that though. There’s not a lot of ambient or meditative or New Age music that delivers that for me, but her work does.
Brush pens on sketchbook paper, with some corrections in Autodesk Sketchbook on iPad, 45 minutes starting at 7:50 this morning.
